Scholarship Details and Award Amount

MUTA Education aims to award up to 16 scholarships for the 2024 – 2025 academic year, with each scholarship valued at N50,000.00. This financial support will be directly transferred to the recipients’ accounts and can be utilised towards tuition, fees, research, or other academic-related expenses.
Who Can Apply?

Eligibility for this scholarship is determined by the following criteria:Applicants must be enrolled in an undergraduate program within the STEM fields, Medicine, or any allied medical field.
A minimum cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 3.5 on a 5.0 scale (equivalent to a second-class upper degree) or 3.0 on a 4.0 scale is required for eligibility.

It’s important to note that only applicants meeting the above CGPA requirements will be considered. The aim is to select one qualified recipient from each of the 14 Tiv-speaking Local Government Areas (LGAs) in Benue State, in addition to one recipient each from Taraba and Nasarawa states.


Application Process

To apply, candidates are required to complete an online application form accessible at https://muta.org/apply-1. The process includes uploading all necessary supporting documents through a secure online portal. This ensures that applications are submitted efficiently and are ready for review by the committee.
Required Supporting Documents

Applicants must include:A 2-page personal statement, double-spaced, outlining their suitability for the award. This should cover academic achievements, community service, career goals, and financial needs.
A declaration of non-affiliation with any cult-related activities.
A Certificate of State or Local Government origin.
A certified letter from the institution’s Academic Officer or Head of Department confirming the candidate’s CGPA.
Evaluation and Selection

Applications will undergo a rigorous review process, with a focus on CGPA (60%) and the quality of the personal statement (40%). Falsification of information will result in disqualification. The deadline for submission is 5 PM Friday, April 15, 2024 [US EST (GMT-5)].
Notification and Award Ceremony

Successful candidates will be notified by email, with recipients announced on Radio Benue and posted online at www.muta.org by June 5, 2024. An award ceremony is planned for July or August 2024, with the exact date to be confirmed.
