URGENT PUBLIC NOTICE AND OFFICIAL CLARIFICATION RE: PMAN PLATEAU STATE CHAPTER AND ENGAGEMENT WITH NIPSS, KURU

The National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru, Plateau State, and the general public are hereby urged to take note of this official clarification regarding the purported engagement involving individuals parading themselves as the leadership of the Performing Musicians Employers’ Association of Nigeria (PMAN).

For the avoidance of doubt, Gabriel Hodus (EL’MORE), the duly recognized PMAN Governor for Plateau State, is the only person authorized by the authentic national leadership to coordinate and authorize PMAN Plateau State Chapter activities in connection with NIPSS, subject to applicable institutional protocols. Any contrary representation should be verified directly with the legitimate national body before recognition or engagement.

Furthermore, the authentic PMAN national leadership maintains that Mr. Pretty Okafor has been suspended and restrained by a subsisting court judgment and, consequently, lacks the authority, according to the association’s position, to appoint, empower, or authorize any individual or group to act on behalf of PMAN in Plateau State. Any purported authorization issued by him should therefore be independently verified against the relevant court order and official PMAN records.

NIPSS and all relevant stakeholders are strongly advised to exercise due diligence and confirm the identities, mandates, and authorization of anyone claiming to represent PMAN before proceeding with any engagement. The authentic national body states that it has not authorized the purported activities in question and does not accept responsibility for commitments undertaken without its approval.

This notice is issued to prevent misrepresentation, protect the integrity of PMAN, and safeguard the interests of NIPSS, musicians, and the general public. All parties are urged to maintain peace, respect the rule of law, and seek clarification from the recognized PMAN national leadership where necessary.

Boniface Itodo (Aita Bonny)
