Program Highlights

Throughout an 8-9 month journey, the scholarship program offers an enriching blend of academic and practical learning opportunities:In-depth Learning: Scholars will delve into the intricacies of Agenda 2030 and the SDGs, gaining valuable insights into sustainable development and entrepreneurship.
Professional Development: The program includes a one-week Summer School at MCI Innsbruck, alongside expert workshops to broaden your professional horizon.
Networking Opportunities: Engage with a global community of like-minded individuals and professionals through peer-to-peer mentoring.
Financial Support: Receive seed funding of $500 USD to bring your SDG Micro-Project to life, following the successful submission of your project proposal.
Recognition: Upon completion, scholars will be awarded a Certificate of Achievement, co-signed by the esteemed Co-chairs of the Ban Ki-moon Centre, H.E. Ban Ki-moon and H.E. Dr Heinz Fischer.
Eligibility Criteria

The Global Citizen Scholarship is inclusive and seeks participants who:Are young African nationals from Ghana, Nigeria, Cameroon, Ethiopia, Kenya, or any eligible country within the continent.
Fall within the age group of 20-35 years.
Have completed a Bachelor’s degree or higher.
Showcase a strong commitment to the SDGs and embody the principles of global citizenship.
Possess a minimum English proficiency of level B2 (European Standards).

Application Process

Prospective scholars are required to provide comprehensive details during the nomination process, including:Personal and Professional Information: Full name, contact details, academic and organizational affiliations, and a brief profile description.
SDG Micro-Project Proposal: Outline your project, including the title, targeted issues and SDGs, and the general process of implementation.

Required Attachments:A motivational statement articulating your dedication to global citizenship and the SDGs.
A recent portrait picture in JPEG or PNG format.
A brief introduction video (max 30 seconds) in MP4 or MOV format, showcasing your personality and aspirations.
Your current CV, detailing your educational and professional background.
A detailed project outline for your proposed SDG Micro-Project.
