This significant announcement was made by the Acting Vice Chancellor and Chairman of Senate, Professor Okechuku Onuchuku, during a statutory Senate meeting on Wednesday, 28th February 2024, at the Postgraduate Hall of the esteemed institution.

Convocation Schedule

The convocation ceremonies are meticulously scheduled over two consecutive days to accommodate both undergraduate and postgraduate students:Undergraduate Convocation: Friday, 26th April 2024

Acknowledgements and Appointments

Professor Onuchuku extended heartfelt gratitude to the State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Joseph Fubara, GSSRS, for his unwavering support, particularly in reconstituting the Governing Council of the University with Chief (Barrister) Adokiye Amiesimaka, CON, DSSRS, as the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman. This reconstitution reflects the Governor’s commitment to the advancement of higher education in the state.

The Senate meeting also saw the election of four esteemed Senate Members to the eleventh Governing Council of IAUE:Professor Isaac Ogundu, Head of Ndele Campus and Dean, Faculty of Vocational and Technical Education.
Professor Beatrice Awortu, Director, General Studies Unit, and Department of History and Diplomatic Studies.
Professor Ozioma Ekpete, Dean, Faculty of Natural and Applied Sciences.
Professor Livinus Ogbonda, Dean, Faculty of Education.
