Prof. Allen Agih Appointed as NDU's 5th Vice Chancellor

Prof. Allen Aziba-Odumosi Agih has been appointed as the 5th Substantive Vice Chancellor of the Niger Delta University (NDU), effective June 19th, 2023, for a single term of five years. Prof. Agih, a Professor of Educational Management, has held various positions at NDU since joining in 2002, including Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Adminstration) and Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academics). Given his experience and personal attributes, the school management is confident that he will successfully guide the University towards its objectives.

The Governing Council of the Niger Delta University (NDU), Wilberforce Island, Bayelsa State, has announced the appointment of Professor Allen Aziba-Odumosi Agih as the Substantive Vice-Chancellor of the University. This comes following the approval from the Executive Governor of Bayelsa State and Visitor to the University, based on the recommendation of the joint Council/State Selection Committee.

About Professor Allen Aziba-Odumosi Agih

Professor Allen Aziba-Odumosi Agih, a seasoned scholar in the field of Educational Management, joined Niger Delta University in 2002 as an Assistant Lecturer. Rising steadily through the ranks, he achieved the status of a Professor in 2017. Throughout his tenure at the University, he has occupied various positions, demonstrating his leadership capabilities and academic proficiency.

Among his notable roles, he served as the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration) from 2021 to 2023 and Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academics) from 2019 to 2021. He was also the Director of the Advancement and Linkages Centre from 2012 to 2019, Acting Head of Department of Educational Foundations from 2012 to 2013, and Hall Warden from 2011 to 2013.

His extensive experience within the University system, paired with his personal attributes of humility, dedication, and discipline, position him as an ideal fit for the role of Vice-Chancellor.

The appointment of Professor Agih as the Vice-Chancellor commences on June 19th, 2023, and is set for a single term of five years.
