Nigerian superstar Davido has given his colleague Rema his flowers for the success of his record-breaking song “Calm Down” and the growth of Afrobeats in general.
During an interview on the Kris Fade show on Virgin Radio Dubai, Davido said that he never thought a Nigerian artist would have a top 5 record in America a few years ago, but Rema has achieved that feat in the past 8 months.

Rema’s “Calm Down” has been a global hit, reaching number 5 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart and becoming the highest-charting Afrobeats song in the US history.
The song has also been a hit in other countries, including the UK, Canada, and Australia.
