EPL: ‘It’s incredible’ – Andy Cole calls out Man Utd forward over lack of goals

Former Manchester United striker, Andy Cole has called out forward Anthony Martial for a lack of goals for the club despite playing in some strong teams.

Martial has been at Man United since 2015, when he joined the Red Devils as a teenager from AS Monaco.

The 27-year-old became the most expensive teenager in British football history at the time when he moved to Old Trafford from the French Ligue 1 club.

The Frenchman was touted as a future superstar and scored a famous goal on his Man United debut in a 3-1 win against Premier League rival Liverpool.

However, Martial has failed to hit the heights expected on his arrival at Man United as injury issues and inconsistent form have plagued his spell with the club so far.

But Cole believes Martial has not proven how good he is at Man United so far.

“Martial has been at Manchester United for 8 years now, and he has not even scored 100 goals. It is incredible. He is a centre-forward at Manchester United, and he has played in some fantastic teams. His best performance in the league was 17 goals,” Cole told Betfred.

“He’s had more than enough time and opportunity to show United just how good he is and he unfortunately has not been able to do so.”

Martial has scored 88 goals in 301 games across competitions for Man United in eight years.
