The news about the fire accident that happened on the Otedola Bridge yesterday; has evoked reactions from Nigerians, including celebrities like Wizkid, Don Jazzy and Olamide.
The accident is one of the many incidents, in recent times, that has caused the loss of several Nigerian lives. The Plateau killings which happened only days ago, the death of the 13 months old son of D’Banj and the loss of lives in the fire accident of yesterday has thrown the country into a mourning state. These deaths have provoked the call for intercession on behalf of the nation in a #PrayForNigeria campaign, which the likes of Davido and Runtown had earlier lent their voices to.
Wizkid has also reacted to the sad occurrence in an Instagram post with which he expressed his grieve and urged his followers to get their Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC) and effect the needed change in government. The caption of his post read, “Prayers Up this morning for my Country Nigeria!! My heart?????? #OpenYourEyes #VoteWisely #GetYourPVC”
Similarly, Olamide made an Instagram post about the recent loss of lives in the fire accident. The YBNL man shared a picture showing wrapped-up bodies at the scene of the fire accident and he attached a heart-break emoji to express his sadness.
Mavin Records CEO, Don Jazzy appeared to understand the reason for the series of unfortunate events that the nation has witnessed in recent times and asked what the next step for the country is. He wrote, “GOD is not happy with us as a country and we know why. What do we do now?”
